Hello

I am a designer, marketer, and educator working across creative direction, brand and marketing design, and instructional design. My work brings strategy and visual communication together to create clear, engaging experiences across print, digital, and learning environments.

My Story

My career has developed at the intersection of design, marketing, and education. What began with graphic design and visual communication grew into a broader practice shaped by audience, purpose, positioning, and message. For more than a decade, I have worked across brand systems, integrated campaigns, publications, websites, presentations, and digital content for organizations in education, healthcare, nonprofit, energy, finance, and professional services.

One of the earliest influences on my creative journey was my first mentor, Deborah Sussman. From her, I learned to embrace authenticity, find energy in the chaos of the creative process, and draw inspiration from the cultures and communities around me. Along the way, many professors, colleagues, mentors, and friends have continued to inspire me, challenge my perspective, and encourage me to keep learning and evolving. Those influences continue to shape a creative approach grounded in curiosity, experimentation, and openness.

Marketing expanded that perspective by teaching me to look beyond the visual solution. Understanding the audience, clarifying the purpose, and identifying what matters most are essential to effective communication. Marketing provides the strategic framework, while design gives that strategy a visual language.

Education later became another important part of my practice. Teaching design and marketing in higher education has allowed me to translate professional experience into courses, projects, and learning resources. My teaching also extends to juvenile court schools, where working directly with students has reinforced the importance of flexibility, accessibility, encouragement, and meaningful opportunities to create. That work has expanded to supporting educators through professional learning and emerging technologies.

My doctoral work in Curriculum and Instruction brings these experiences together through instructional design, professional learning, and the responsible use of AI in education. Through research, training, and collaboration, I advocate for approaches that help educators use emerging technologies with confidence while keeping human expertise and meaningful learning at the center.

Today, I see design, marketing, and instructional design as interconnected. Across a campaign, publication, digital experience, course, or training program, the same principles guide my work: understand the audience, clarify the purpose, communicate thoughtfully, and create experiences that are engaging, useful, and meaningful.
